For this program, you’ll need access to a full range of gym equipment. You’ll need an olympic barbell with olympic lifting plates, squat rack, bench, a pull up rig, box, dumbbells, kettlebells, skipping ropes, gymnastic rings and a climbing rope. The machines that you’ll need include a rower and fan bike – and it’s optional (but would be great) to have an Assault Runner, Ski-erg and/or a Concept2 Bike. In terms of more obscure equipment, you’ll also need a sled, GHD machine, sandbag and deadball. It would also be good if you had an axle bar, a yoke and a trap bar but these aren’t necessary.

I would definitely recommend 64 Training Systems. It’s on another level compared to other programming that I have followed – it’s very easy to use.

It makes programming for the gym 100x easier. It’s made available the week in advance and it comes with detailed coaches notes, alternate scaling options (so it’s suitable for all athletes) and also alternate equipment options if your gym doesn’t have all of the equipment available. This takes all the thinking out of it and the guesswork so you can just focus on coaching.

It caters to different levels of athletes – you’ve got the people who are wanting to compete in the elite levels and this gives them the opportunity to train for that, but it also caters to people just wanting to train everyday and not wanting to compete – it allows both to reap rewards and see progression.

When an athlete comes to a competition, they’re often shocked or not well prepared, but that’s no longer the case with this program.

The structured training blocks also give our athletes a clear focus and make them more determined.

I would definitely recommend 64 training systems. I also know others who are using the program and they’re loving it just as much as I do.
